What are the hollow books used for?

How do you make them?

The hollow books are crafted from hardcover new or used books. We buy books from all different kinds of sources like libraries, flea markets, auctions, thrift stores etc. We use a combination of a special type of book binding glue, hand tools, woodworking and book binding skills. The process takes a couple of days. Excellent craftsmanship is the top priority and if we are not happy with the end result we put it in the recycle bin.

How much do they cost?

Prices start at $13.95 and the average hollow book price is around $26. Each hollow book is individually priced based on value, cost of procurement and work involved.

Can I get a discount if I buy more than one?

Yes, we heavily discount orders with more than one hollow book as it costs us less per hollow book to put the order together.

What are the "book dimensions"

The outside dimensions of the book are listed in the book search result pages and the book detail page. The inside dimensions of the compartment are about a half an inch less.

Where are the hollow books made?

We make them in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We buy books locally and use only American high quality products.

Do you recycle the books parts you don’t use?

Yes, all of the parts of the book that are not used are recycled.
